»»Delta Offers Double Miles if You Redeem an Award and Use American Express

Delta is offering double miles if you redeem an award of at least 10,000 miles and use SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express.

The offer, valid from July 1 to September 30, requires a minimum redemption of 10,000 miles through one or a combination of Delta channels from the Primary Cardmember’s SkyMiles account.

The double miles offer will be applied to the total number of dollars of eligible spend during the promotion period.

»»Starwood Introduces Its First Cisco TelePresence Suites

Starwood Hotels & Resorts recently announced the introduction of its first in-hotel Cisco TelePresence meeting suites in Sydney and Chicago.

W Chicago City Center and Sheraton on the Park Sydney are the first Starwood hotels to inaugurate the new Cisco’s meeting facilities.

Starwood had announced in June of 2009 plans to build Cisco TelePresence rooms in at least 10 properties worldwide.

Cisco TelePresence provides high-definition video and audio to create the experience of face-to-face meetings.

»»Delta Expands International Flights at Minneapolis-St. Paul

Delta Air Lines announced it will add daily nonstop service between Minneapolis-St. Paul and Mexico City International on December 18. The flight, subject to Mexican government approval, will mark the first nonstop service operated by any airline between the two cities.
Delta says the new service will be operated with 124-seat Airbus A319 aircraft, which are equipped with 16 First class and 108 Economy seats.

»»Ryanair Offers Larger Checked-In Luggage Allowance

Ryanair passengers who do require checked-in luggage can now purchase a larger 20kg bag allowance for €/£25.

It is an alternative to the carrier’s standard 15kg checked-in bag allowance which costs €/£15.

Additional 15kg allowance costs €/£35. Ryanair passengers can purchase checked-in baggage allowances on ryanair.com at the time of booking or, once booking is made, through “Manage My Booking” area of the website.

For those who do not require checked-in luggage, Ryanair offers a 10kg free carry on allowance.

»»Alaska Reducing Time Guaranteed for Baggage Delivery to 20 Min

Alaska Airlines is improving its Baggage Delivery Guarantee. That means the time guaranteed for baggage delivery has been reduced.

They now guarantee checked baggage delivery within 20 minutes.
If checked bags aren’t delivered within 20 minutes of a flight parking at the gate, they will offer 2000 miles or a $20 discount on a future flight as compensation for late baggage.

The old policy, effective since July 2009, was offering 2500 miles or a $25 certificate for future travel if checked bags were not delivered within 25 minutes.
