»»Hawaiian Airlines Earns Top Honor from Airline Quality Rating
According to the annual Airline Quality Rating (AQR) report, Hawaiian Airlines was the carrier providing passengers with the best airline service in the U.S. in 2008.
Hawaiian was followed in the order by AirTran, JetBlue and Northwest — the only legacy airline ranking high with the other ones languishing in the middle of the table.

At the bottom of the table lie Delta subsidiary Comair, American subsidiary American Eagle and Delta affiliate Atlantic Southeast (ASA) which earned the worst rating. Airline Quality Rating report is based on Transportation Department statistics for airlines that carry at least 1% of the passengers who flew domestically last year.
The ranking of the airlines is based on their combined performance in the following major focus areas: on-time arrivals, involuntary denied boardings, mishandled baggage, and a combination of 12 customer complaint categories.
Overall, AQR says the airline service is improved in 2008, hitting a four-year high, as 2007 was the worst year for customer complaints in more than a decade. The main reason for that lies in the fewer people flying in 2008 that means flights arriving on time more often and losing fewer bags.
