»»Dubai Airport Opens New $5 Billion Terminal 3
The global crisis does not stop Dubai’s plans to build new large airports.
AFP reports that the opening of the new Emirates Terminal 3, next Tuesday, adds a capacity of 20 million passengers a year to Dubai international airport, taking total capacity to 60 million while construction goes on at another airport intended to be one of the world’s largest.
Paul Griffiths, chief executive officer of Dubai Airports, was quoted by AFP saying: “Dubai is in a unique geocentric position where we have by default become the world’s most significant hub”.
The Dubai carrier Emirates will complete its move to Terminal 3 within the end of the year.
