»»Delayed Flights in U.S.: Newark Liberty, JFK, Chicago O’Hare Worst Performers in June

According to the Department of Transportation (DOT)’s Air Travel Consumer Report, in June, 335 flights arrived late more than 80% of the time they operated.

Continental Airlines was involved — with ExpressJet on Continental Express routes, in half of the most-chronically delayed flights. Delta subsidiary Comair was involved in seven of the 25 most delayed flights, American in four of them.

The airports mostly involved were Newark Liberty (14 times of the 25 most-delayed flights), New York JFK (six times) and Chicago O’Hare (three times).

In May the DOT’s Report showed only 24 flights arrived late more than 80% of the time. The Department of Transportation (DOT) defines a flight as late if it arrives at least 15 minutes later than scheduled. (view complete data from the Department of Transportation)
