»»Eateries in Baggage-claim Areas, Airport Emerging Trend

Restaurants opening in arrivals and baggage-claim areas seems to be one of the responses to the elimination of in-flight meals.

The emerging trend sees airport operators giving travelers a new array of meal options in baggage-claim areas. It is more than just an opportunity for revenue.

The Vancouver Sun quoted John Infanger, editorial director of Airport Business magazine, saying: “But the big focus for airports these days is customer service“.
According to Mr. Infanger, meals at public arrivals areas cater especially to travellers coming home to empty refrigerators, to passengers arriving too late - or too early - to get food at area restaurants, and to “meeters and greeters” waiting for loved ones to arrive from flights.
