»»All-Business Class Silverjet Plans To Resume Flying

All-business class carrier Silverjet which grounded its fleet late May, announced it plans to resume flying after agreeing to be bought by a Swiss trust company. The airline ceased operations saying an investment from the United Arab Emirates-based Viceroy Holdings did not materialize.

Silverjet chief executive Lawrence Hunt was quoted saying: “We now have the necessary backing from a long-term investor to relaunch Silverjet. We will be working around the clock to launch our New York and Dubai services as quickly as possible” (source: iht.com).

Ian Ilsley, director of Kingplace, the Irish shelf-company, managed by the Geneva-based trust Heritage Cie, which bought Silverjet, said the carrier may be flying again “in a matter of weeks”.

Silverjet flew to New York and Dubai from London Luton airport, often offering premium tickets for about one-third the price charged by competitors.
