»»Central Florida Becoming Increasingly Popular for Business Travel

Central Florida, a major destination for leisure travel, is increasingly seen also as a business destination. The city of Orlando, which was the 11th-busiest destination for business travelers last year (source: online travel service ‘Orbitz for Busness‘) is proving the growing popularity of Central Florida as a business destination.

Orlando is getting more and more business travel; Dean Sivley, Orbitz for Business’ senior vice president, said Orlando will be in the top 10 destinations this year.

Among the factors are driving this trend are the Orange County Convention Center’s expansion and the Orlando International Airport’s growth.

However, Sivley said there are other reasons. The nature of leisure destination of Orlando is also driving the growing popularity of this area as a business destination. A growing number of travelers now spend a few extra days at the end of a meeting for a minivacation.
One-in-three business travelers will extend their vacations with a leisure component,” Sivley said. “That favors Orlando as a business destination.” (source)
