»»Top 10 New Business Hotels 2005

In the list of top 10 Business Hotels opened in 2005, compiled by Forbes, just 3 are located in the U.S., that suggests luxury hotels are opening at a slow rate in that country.

Sofitel Hotel, Xian - Forbes.com

Analysts point out the causes for that are:

- shortage of prime urban locations left for development

- construction costs. (Steel and cement are currently being consumed at a high rate by China and India, which increases the cost for everyone else).

The low manufacturing costs instead would be the cause of the faster growth rate of luxury hotels in countries, such as China or India.

The Forbes list is based on the following hotels features:
- location in the major international hub cities,
- location near the city center or financial district,
- location in close proximity to excellent dining options,
- their business facilities had to be above-standard (Internet access in all rooms, meeting space and a dedication to serving business travelers).

Below the top 10 Business Hotels list:
• The Intercontinental Financial Street, Beijing, China

• Sofitel on Renmin Square, Xian, China

• Hotel Fox, Copenhagen, Denmark

• The Four Seasons, Hong Kong

• Shangri-La Hotel, New Delhi, India

• Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo, Japan

• Park Hyatt, Seoul, South Korea

• The Setai, Miami, United States

• The Shoreham, New York City, United States
